Emirates to put second A380 on Birmingham route
Emirates will introduce a second daily A380 service between Dubai and Birmingham this winter.
The announcement comes a few weeks after the airline confirmed it was scrapping one of its three daily services on the route.
From September 1, it will no longer fly flight EK041/042, but from October 29 Flight EK39/40 will switch from a Boeing 777 to an A380 with 615 seats.
As with the current A380 on the route, the aircraft will operate in a two-class configuration, featuring 58 flat-bed seats in Business Class and 557 spacious seats in Economy Class, as well as Emirates’ Onboard Lounge.
Emirates started flying to Birmingham in December 2000 as a daily service to Dubai, operated by a 278-seat Airbus A330.
A codeshare agreement with Flybe enables passengers to connect to cities across the UK, including Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey and Newquay.
All codeshare flights operated by Flybe connect with Emirates flights from Dubai to Manchester, Glasgow and Birmingham.
