Emirates’ Brisbane route goes double daily in February 2009
Emirates, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, today announced Brisbane will receive a second daily service to Dubai effective Monday 2 February 2009.
The second daily service comes approximately five years after Emirates first launched into Brisbane, with daily flights via Singapore to Dubai in October 2003.
Jenny Trebilcock, Emirates Sales Manager for Queensland said, “The introduction of a second daily frequency will provide additional capacity to cater to increasing demand for our route network, which now includes over 100 destinations world-wide.”
“The second daily flight in February will provide passengers with the first direct, non-stop option between Dubai and Brisbane, disembarking passengers in Dubai at the beginning of a new day; Emirates flight EK435 departs Brisbane at 8.30pm and arrives in Dubai at 5.30am.
“We had previously planned on our second flight commencing service in October 2008, however aircraft delivery schedules require the service to now start in February 2009,†Jenny Trebilcock concluded.
In April this year Emirates opened a new Emirates Lounge at Brisbane Airport, with a stunning 360 degree view of the airport and the surrounding area; it is the first airline lounge in Australia capable of boarding passengers directly from the lounge to all Emirates aircraft.
Emirates will operate the new Brisbane service with its state-of-the-art Airbus A340-500, offering 12 luxurious private suites in First Class, 42 seats in Business Class and generous space for 204 passengers in Economy.
The new flight will provide an additional 258 seats per day to and from the Queensland capital.
Passengers in all classes will enjoy meals prepared by gourmet chefs, award-winning service from its international cabin crew recruited from over 100 countries around the world, as well as Emirates’ cutting-edge ice (information, communication, entertainment) system, which offers a selection of over 600 channels of entertainment on demand, as well as the ability to send and receive email and text messages from personal in-seat entertainments systems.
