Southeast Asia is getting another direct air link to East Africa with a new non-stop service to Singapore by Ethiopian Airlines.
Using Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets, Ethiopian will operate the service ive times a week from Addis Ababa beginning June 2017.
"With the youngest fleet of modern airplanes, we are glad that we are able to offer a direct and non-stop services to the Lion City, Singapore, a global aviation centre and a preferred gateway to Asia and Australia," said Group CEO Tewolde GebreMariam.
"Our direct and non-stop flights will serve the growing traffic between Africa and Singapore, giving the best possible connectivity options to passengers travelling between most points in Asia and Africa, in partnership with fellow Star member, Singapore Airlines."
The carrier serves more than 90 international destinations including Bangkok.
New routes already announced recently by Africa’s biggest airline include Jakarta and Chengdu both via Bangkok.
