Europe experts heartened by show success
SYDNEY – THE Euro Travel Experts group of wholesalers was encouraged with the attendance at the Travel Expo it held for consumers at Sydney’s Mercure Hotel last Sunday.
The seven members of ETE, combined with representatives of about 20 airlines, national tourist offices and tour operators, provided visitors with specialised advice on travel to Europe.
Managing director of Beyond Travel, Peter Frevel, said that the group was pleased with the attendance of more than 1000 potential travellers who took advantage of the opportunity to talk personally with ETE members and their partner travel organisations.
He added that the most noticeable and significant difference at the expo was the high percentage of quality enquiries.
He said visitors were genuinely interested in obtaining expert information about definite travel plans which clearly indicates a positive shift in consumer attitude to overseas travel in 2010.
The members of ETE are Albatross Travel, Beyond Travel, French Travel Connection, globalCARS, International Rail, Nordic Travel and SIT Italian Tours.
Similar functions will be held at the Mercure Melbourne on Sunday, October 25 and at the Sofitel Brisbane on Sunday November
