Exclusive U.S. Premiere of "Leonardo: 500 Years Into the Future" at The Tech Museum of San Jose
“Leonard 500 Years into the Future,†the exclusive U.S. showing of the most comprehensive exhibit of the innovative art, science and engineering works of Leonardo da Vinci and his contemporaries, comes to The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, California this fall for only 99 days.
The exhibit, on display at The Tech Museum September 27, 2008, to January 4, 2009, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see how this genius of the Renaissance influenced and inspired much of the technology we use today. The show offers an exciting and educational glimpse into the mind of one of the world’s most innovative thinkers. Visitors are expected from all over the world for this unique exhibit in San Jose, the only scheduled venue.
“Leonard 500 Years into the Future†combines more than 200 artifacts, including life-size working models, hands-on interactive machines and displays, multimedia presentations and priceless works of art. There will also be hands-on design challenges in the museum’s galleries based on Leonardo’s engineering, scientific and art principles.
The exhibit also features more than 100 life-size and scale working models based on conceptual drawings and designs by Leonardo and his contemporaries, painstakingly recreated by artisans using tools and materials common in Leonardo’s time. “Leonard 500 Years into the Future†is produced in collaboration with The Museum of the History of Science in Florence, Italy.
The 24-foot Sforza horse statue will go up in front of the museum in early September and remain there through the duration of the exhibit.
I am hoping you can find room for a mention, calendar listing or more in-depth feature about the show. I’ve attached a photo of the Sforza Horse, a full release and some logo artwork. For more information and tickets, visit www.thetech.org, or call (408) 294-TECH (8324).
