Fat travellers should pay for two seats on planes
Obese travellers should pay for two seats when travelling on a plane, according to voters in a new survey.
The survey, conducted by leading online travel marketplace totaltravel.com, asked the question: “Should excessively overweight people be forced to pay for two seats when travelling on a plane?”
Almost two out of three people (63 per cent or 1783 people) believed fat people should be charged with an additional seat, claiming they had paid for their seat and ‘didn’t want to share it with anyone else’.
Totaltravel.com global marketing manager Paul Fisher said the issue was one that resonated strongly with travellers, especially as seat space was sat such a premium on planes since the advent of low-cost carriers.
The survey attracted 2810 voters and ran over a period of four weeks.
