Fathom is hoping to attract more customers on its Dominican Republic and Cuba sailings with a new partnership with home sharing platform Airbnb.

People who sign up as new hosts with Airbnb will be entitled to a $250 discount off Fathom cruises.

"We love that Airbnb offers a marketplace of unforgettable experiences curated by their host community all over the world. In many ways, we share that same passion and deliver new memories," said Tara Russell, president of Fathom.

"Today’s consumers want to have unique, immersive experiences, and I’m excited that we can now creatively make this possible even further through this natural partnership."

It is open to all new Airbnb hosts in the US who complete the verified ID process and keep the listing active for a minimum of thirty days with at least four nights of qualifying reservations by December 31, 2016.

Fathom’s weekly Dominican Republic cruises start at $499 with Cuba sailings priced at £1,899.
