FBI probes suspicious cruise ship death
The FBI is investigating a ‘suspicious cruise ship death’ aboard Carnival Sunshine.
The ship docked at Charleston at the weekend after the death of a woman a few days prior.
The woman was found unresponsive during the Bahamas cruise.
Medical personnel responded but she was pronounced dead.
Officers said it was an isolated incident and posed no threat to other passengers.
The woman was travelling with her husband.
The FBI said the body was taken ashore in Nassau, Bahamas for n autopsy.
“Bahamian authorities have already investigated the circumstances,” officials said.
No further details about the death or if any suspects have been identified.
The FBI’s Evidence Response Team boarded the ship at Charleston to collect evidence.
The cruise ship death investigation is still ongoing, it said.
