Fears of Christmas airport strikes across Australia
Christmas travel is at risk due to the possibility of multiple Australia airport strikes.
Security staff could walk out at Canberra Airport this week, followed by Brisbane and the Gold Coast next Monday.
It relates to ongoing pay disputes.
The United Workers Union has demanded at least a 10% pay rise.
Airport strikes would cause ‘chaos,’ Brisbane Airport said.
“Hard working Australians deserve the opportunity for a break.”
“We’re currently working with airline partners on contingencies.”.
Passengers should the status of their flight before heading to the airport.
