Ferry operator offers self check-in
LD Lines says it is the first cross channel ferry operator to introduce self check-in facilities.
It is pioneering the technology on one of its four major routes, Portsmouth-Le Havre.
The operator has installed foot passenger self check-in kiosks in the ports of Le Havre and Portsmouth and says bookings and ticket sales will also soon be made available via this same facility.
The second phase will see vehicle and passengers self check-in facilities in the same ports.
Managing director Christophe Santoni said: “Whilst passengers will still be able to choose the traditional check-in methods, this new facility will provide a modern, fast and convenient alternative, further improving levels of service.”
