Fifth person dies after Grand Canyon helicopter crash
The deadly Grand Canyon helicopter crash on February 10 has now claimed its fifth life.
The Clark County coroner in Las Vegas has confirmed the death of newly wed 29-year-old Ellie Milward.
She was on honeymoon with husband Jonathan Udall who also died along with three friends, Becky Dobson, 27 and brothers Stuart Hill, 30, and Jason Hill, 32.
All were UK citizens.
Pilot Scott Booth, 42, and another UK traveler Jennifer Barham, 39, are the only survivors.
The group were on a sightseeing tour when the Papillon Airways helicopter crashed near Quartermaster Canyon and burst into flames.
"The family are exceedingly grateful for everything done by rescue services and volunteers in the Canyon, and throughout the last two weeks by the exceptional staff at University Medical Center in Las Vegas," a statement from Milward Udall’s family said.
The National Transportation Safety Board said the chopper made two sharp 360-degree spins before going down and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
The final accident report could take up to a year.
