Fiji and the Pacific on show at Bula Fiji
Fiji and its Pacific Islands neighbours will have an opportunity to showcase themselves at the Bula Fiji Tourism Exchange later this year in May, with the three-day event being held on Denarau Island and co-hosted by the Denarau Resorts and hotels.
BFTE coordinator Lillian Allen said the event was now known as the largest exchange in the South Pacific, adding that BFTE was an annual event that created the opportunity for the Fiji tourism industry and its Pacific Island neighbours and that approximately 700 participants were expected at this years event.
She said sellers were from Fiji, Cook Islands, Norfolk, Christmas Island, Kiribati, Tahiti, Niue, New Caledonia, Tonga, Samoa,Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and the Solomons and that buyers would be coming from countries like New Zealand, Australia, USA, Canada, Austria, China, Denmark and France,Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands,UnitedKingdom, Argentina, South Africa and Italy.
She added, “This event creates the opportunity for the Fiji tourism industry and its Pacific Island neighbours to showcase themselves to the invited international buyers-who are bona-fide wholesalers who sell Fiji and the South Pacific as a tourism destination”.
“It also be brings together the international wholesaler and the South Pacific hoteliers, resort operators, airlines, ground handlers, rental car and transportation operators, cruise and tour operators and other activity organisations associated with tourism.”

All booths are sold out and have been since end of December.
Lillian said it was the 12th year of the event with the inaugural event being held at the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort.
