Finnair launches direct flights to Tokyo-Haneda
Finnair this weekend launches new direct flights from Helsinki to Tokyo-Haneda, in a boost to its Asian services.
From October 30, flights to Tokyo’s second airport will operate daily – in addition to twice weekly connections to Tokyo-Narita.
The first flight comes weeks after Japan eased its travel restrictions, after more than two years of strict Covid curbs.
Andrew Fish, Finnair General Manager UK Ireland & Benelux, said: “The launch of Finnair flights to Tokyo-Haneda marks a major milestone in the resumption of services to Japan and Asia.”
“We know customers will appreciate the return of the shorter northern route between Europe and Japan even with the closure of Russian airspace, and quick connections between flights at our Helsinki hub.”
Travellers will now also be able to independently visit the country for tourism purposes without the need for a visa or an organised tour group.
Flights to Japan are on Airbus A350 aircraft, featuring its brand-new long-haul cabins, including Air Lounge Business Class seats, and a brand-new Premium Economy.
Services have been specifically timed to allow for easy connections onto Finnair’s worldwide destinations – including top UK airports London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh and the Irish capital Dublin.
