Fired Disney worker changed allergy info on menus
A disgruntled former Disney employee is facing serious charges after taking revenge on the company.
Michael Scheuer was dismissed earlier this year and tried to exact revenge by changing allergy information on Disney restaurant menus.
It could have resulted in serious allergic reactions for unwitting diners, prosecutors said.
Scheuer allegedly used passwords which were not yet deactivated to change menu content.
Much of the changes were ‘benign’ such as adding profanities and changes prices, but also changing the allergen information.
He was able to make changes to menus over several months.
The criminal complaint also states he admitted sending ‘threatening’ emails but denied the other allegations.
Disney was referred to as ‘Company A’ in the compliant but other media has confirmed it was Disney and involved Disney World restaurants.
“He manipulated the allergen information on menus by adding information to some allergen notifications that indicated certain menu items were safe for individuals with peanut allergies, when in fact they could be deadly,” the federal criminal complaint says.
The menus were noticed by Disney after they were printed but luckily before they were sent to Disney restaurants.
Scheuer also allegedly hacked employees’ company system accounts.

As someone with a food allergy, all I can say is "what a P.O.S. human". I hope if he is proven guilty that he gets the maximum penalty. Attempted murder should be one of his charges.
