First hotel with electric-car charger debuts in California

Wednesday, 14 May, 2013 0

The nation’s first hotel with a Nissan Leaf Rapid Charger for electric cars has opened in arguably the most environmentally conscious state, California.

Travelers can recharge themselves as well as their cars, the hotel says, at Marriott’s Residence Inn San Juan Capistrano.

The hotel is helping the environment with a California first by offering the Nissan Leaf Rapid Charger.

The Residence Inn is at about the halfway point between San Diego and Los Angeles, making the trip possible in an electric car with a 60-minute recharging stop at the hotel.

Tech-savvy guests can use their Nissan Leaf smartphone app to see when their car is fully charged and ready to be picked up, while they take a break to have lunch or work out.
