First InterContinental for Scotland
InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) is planning to open a 17-storey 192-room InterContinental Hotel in Edinburgh in 2013.
The group has signed a deal with Tiger Developments to build the hotel, which will form part of a £250 million project to transform the Haymarket – one of Edinburgh’s most neglected city centre sites – into a thriving hotel and commercial quarter.
IHG president, Europe, Middle East and Africa Kirk Kinsell said: “This landmark deal will give us our first InterContinental Hotel in Scotland.”
