First Newcastle link from London City
Eastern Airways is to provide the first Newcastle-London City Airport air service with flights starting on Monday.
The full service regional airline claims it will provide the shortest journey times between Newcastle and the capital with flights taking one hour ten minutes.
The airline will run four flights a day aimed at saving business travellers time travelling to and from the North East.
Head of sales and marketing Keith Watson said: “Speed, time and frequent services are key for business travellers and we are strengthening business links by providing the fastest way for them to travel between the two cities.”
London City Airport managing director Richard Gooding said: ”Domestic routes are very much in demand as flying instantly reduces travel time. Eastern Airways is launching its Newcastle service with a frequency that provides flexibility, making them the preferred mode of transport to and from London, easily competing against the drawn out train journey.”
