Fleur Noire Hotel blossoms in the Coachella Valley
Greater Palm Springs newest boutique hotel opened this week, consisting of 21 uniquely designed casitas, bungalows and suites in collaboration with three internationally renowned interior designers.
Previously an apartment block, Fleur Noire Hotel is located in the heart of Palm Springs and displays larger than life floral murals instantly attracting guests ‘interest, as well as photographers and those who appreciate vibrant street art.
The hotel will offer guests a bar, fire pits, games, multiple outdoor living spaces and a pool lined with cabanas.
Guests have the perfect base to venture out into downtown Palm Springs to sample the restaurants, attractions and nightlife.
The floral graphics on the exterior of the hotel were designed and hand painted by mural artist Louise Jones.
The colourful native flowers sit well within the surrounding neighbourhoods and have completely transformed the accommodation’s beige and uninviting walls.
Moving inside, Ellie Cashman designed the room’s wallpaper. Taking inspiration from still life painters in the Dutch Golden Age, Cashman created a series of wallpapers and fabrics in keeping with the big floral designs custom made for each room to work with the varied lights.
Artist and architect Chris Pardo is no stranger to Greater Palm Springs with earlier creations including ARRIVE and the Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs, both with distinctly unique design qualities. His connection with the destination inspired his latest vision for the Fleur Noire Hotel and is already working on his next property, Black House, which is due to open in 2022 with five individual houses accommodating large groups.
