Flight-only agent ceases trading

Boutique flight-only travel agent Holiday Routes has collapsed with a handful of customers abroad and several dozen forward bookings.

The ABTA member, which operated the Holidayroutes.com and Holidayroutes.travel websites, specialized in flights to Asia and South America.

The Wembley-based company had about 30 clients abroad and around 80 forward bookings for some 200 passengers at the time of its failure.

The CAA said bookings were ATOL-protected and passengers abroad who hold scheduled, no frills flight or e-tickets will be able to use their tickets to return home.

Those customers who are due to travel on flight-only bookings who have been issued with scheduled, no frills or e-tickets will be able to travel as normal.

Others who booked just flights and have been issued with an ATOL Certificate which states ‘Flight Only sale’ and have not been issued with tickets may be entitled to claim from either the CAA or their credit card provider.
