Florida visitation almost at pre-pandemic levels
Despite Covid raging across the state, tourism to Florida is almost at pre-pandemiv 2019 levels. Visit Florida data shows 31.7 million visitors came to Florida between April and June, which is only 2% below normal levels.
Due to lack of international markets able to come to the US, domestic visitation has increased compared to 2019. Hotel occupancy in the second quarter was up to71%. It comes as Florida in in the midst of a major Covid surge with an average 20,000 cases a day.
