Sunday, 30 Nov, 2016 0

Flybe has entered into a codeshare deal with Star Alliance-member Singapore Airlines to provide easier access to Australasia and the US for passengers based in UK regions.

From this winter, the airline will offer connecting services from five UK regional airports and two mainland European airports to over 100 of Singapore Airlines’ long-haul destinations.

Flybe said that in addition to connecting to flights to Australia and southeast Asia, the alliance will offer Singapore Airlines’ flights to Houston in the US from Manchester Airport.

The new partnership also opens up additional connections via Paris Charles de Gaulle and Dusseldorf, it said.

Flybe also offers an interline agreement with Singapore Airlines at several airports including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Isle of Man, Exeter and London City.

Flybe chief revenue officer Vincent Hodder said: "Our new codeshare agreement with Singapore Airlines is another exciting development for Flybe.

"It further strengthens our ability to connect our regional customers to long-haul destinations with our ‘One Stop to the World’ proposition and also serves to boost local economies by ecouraging inbound business and leisure travel."

Sheldon Hee, Singapore Airlines’ general manager UK & Ireland, said: "Singapore Airlines’ new partnership with Flybe greatly increases our reach throughout the UK by improving opportunities for its regional customers to access the high quality service and comfort that Singapore Airlines is known for, all from their local airport."

Singapore is Flybe’s 11th codeshare partner.
