Foreign Office warning for Egypt
The Foreign Office has changed its advice for visitors to Egypt, warning them that they face a “continuing threat from terrorism throughout the country”.
There have been several recent attacks in the capital, Cairo, in recent days.
On Saturday, a suicide bomber jumped from an overpass near the Egyptian museum, and just hours later relatives of his fired bullets at a tour bus.
The Foreign Office states that three people were killed in the attacks; furthermore, nine people including four tourists were hurt.
The Foreign Office website, at www.fco.gov.uk, warns that one suspected terrorist has escaped and that further attacks in Cairo “cannot be ruled out”.
