Foreign Office warns of strike
The Foreign Office is warning tourists of possible disruptions to public transport in Nepal on Sunday due to a nationwide strike.
The Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities, which announced the industrial action, is warning that roads and highways could be blocked on August 15.
The advice on the Foreign Office website reads: "You are advised to avoid all demonstrations and large gatherings and remain vigilant at all times.
"You should take local advice from tour operators and travellers should allow extra time for their journeys."
