Former Continental Airlines CEO and Chairman Gordon Bethune has joined Cendant’s travel distribution services division (TD) as it chairman.

Bethune is expected to stay in the role until Cendant completes the spin-off TDS as a separate company later this year, at which time Bethune will stay on as non-executive chairman of the new company.

One of Bethune’s first tasks for Cendant will be to help the company identify and recruit a TDS chief executive, reported Houston Business Journal.
