Former Heathrow chairman joins TUI Travel
Heathrow Airport former chairman Janis Kong has joined TUI Travel as a non-executive director.
Kong, who was also managing director at Gatwick Airport and former chairman of Heathrow Express during her 33-year career with BAA, was appointed to TUI’s PLC Board at today’s Board meeting.
She replaced Bill Dalton who retired from the Board today. Dalton, who was chairman of the remuneration committee, had been a Board member since the creation of TUI PLC in 2007.
He will be replaced as remuneration committee chairman by Coline McConville.
Commenting on Dalton’s retirement, senior independent director Sir Michael Hodgkinson said: "Bill has been a much valued member of the Board and I would like to thank him for his efforts and significant contribution to both the First Choice Holidays and TUI Travel Boards. I would also like to welcome Janis to the Board. We look forward to her bringing her experience of both the corporate world and the aviation industry in particular to the Group."
Kong also holds directorships at Kingfisher PLC and Portmeirion Group PLC.
