Former Tinder and Google Maps exec joins Rome2rio Board
Travel planning platform Rome2rio has made some changes to its Board following the departure of Rod Cuthbert.
Founder and chairman Michael Cameron has become chairman of the Board and Hugh Williams has joined the Board.
Williams previously held senior executive positions at Google, eBay, Tinder and Microsoft and also holds advisory roles at Doordash, Expert 360, Ocado Technology, Photobox and Redbubble.
The Melbourne-based company, which recently announced a partnership with Lonely Planet, said the changes herald a new phase for company.

"We would like to thank Rod for his significant contributions to Rome2rio and wish him all the best in his future endeavours," says Michael Cameron, co-founder and CEO.
"We continue to focus on transforming Rome2rio into a global travel brand, and Hugh will provide assistance and guidance on how we can build our strategy and continue our growth."
Williams said he looks forward to utilising his background running Google Maps and working on search at eBay and Microsoft to help Rome2rio achieve its objectives.
"I look forward to working closely with Michael, Bernie [Tschirren, co-founder] and the Board on the strategy, as well as assisting the broader team with advice on execution and technology challenges and development. I have a passion for how the internet is changing the way B2C companies work, and Rome2rio’s commitment to enhancing the user’s travel planning experience is a natural fit for my passion and experience."
