Frontier Airlines adds Caribbean routes from Miami
Low cost airline Frontier has unveiled two new routes to the Caribbean out of Miami.
It will launch new services from MIA to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
They begin on the 7 and 8 March respectively.
Both routes will operate twice a week on Airbus jets.
"We’re thrilled to continue our exceptional growth at Miami with new nonstop flights to Punta Cana and St. Thomas starting right in time for spring break travel," said Daniel Shurz, Senior Vice President of Commercial at Frontier Airlines,
Frontier has previously announced the launch of St Thomas flights out of Orlando which begin next month.
"We are once again thankful for this partnership with Frontier as the carrier works to meet existing and create new demand for travel to the US Virgin Islands with affordable fares," said USVI Tourism Commissioner Joseph Boschulte.
MIA is one of Frontier’s newest hubs and last year it flew nonstop to 20 cities.
It plans to serve at least 29 destinations from Miami this year, the airline said.
