Frontier dropping some change fees
Low cost carrier Frontier Airlines is scrapping flight change fees for some customers.
Travelers who wish to make changes at least 60 days before their flight can do so for free.
The airline previously charged $49 for changes made between 60 and 90 days before departure.
However, passengers making changes between 14 days and 60 days will actually see the change fee go up to $79 from $49.
Frontier’s fee for last minute changes less than two weeks before departure stays the same at $119.
Fare difference applicable at the time of the change is still payable.
Frontier spokesman Zach Kramer reckons the airline’s fee pricing policy is among the best in the industry.
"We’re still ahead of the other guys,” he said.
Most major airlines impose hefty change fees of $200-plus at the last minute.
