Fuel surcharges make a come-back
Two more cruise operators have announced plans to slap a fuel surcharge on all new bookings.
Cruise & Maritime Voyages said it had ‘reluctantly taken the decision’ to add £4 per passenger per day, up to a maximum of £100 per passenger’ for all bookings from February 1.

All Leisure Group has said it will add fuel supplements for summer sailings on Voyages of Discovery and Swan Hellenic. The rise of £4 per passenger per day (maximum 38 day sailing) will be effective on all new bookings made on and after 01 February on cruises departing 30 April 2011 onwards for Voyages of Discovery and 22 June onwards for Swan Hellenic.
P&O, Cunard and Fred. Olsen have already introduced fuel surcharges, with all companies blaming the increase in crude oil prices.
