Sabre Pacific has announced the appointment of Gai Tyrrell as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Sabre Pacific Chairman, Hans Belle, says the appointment is the perfect fit for the company, with Gai’s deep knowledge of the travel industry, her extensive experience and proven leadership skills.
“Her background makes her the ideal candidate to drive the solutions Sabre® Connected travel agents need to continue to thrive in a dynamic marketplace,” says Mr Belle.
Gai is a well respected and well known industry leader, currently a strategic advisor to the travel industry, with her previous roles having included three years as Chief Operating Officer, The Jetset Travelworld Group, a similar time as Executive General Manager of TQ3 Australia and 13 years with Qantas where her last role was General Manager Industry Sales. She was also a Director of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA).
Mr Belle says Gai brings highly relevant experience and commercial understanding from within the airline industry, as well as the corporate and retail travel sectors.
“This broad view and her well-known ‘go get it’ attitude will be invaluable as we continue our mission to put the agent back into travel,” says Mr Belle.
Mrs Tyrrell says she is excited about the solutions that Sabre Pacific offers to enhance the business success of travel consultancies – “which is why I’m raring to go”, she says.
“We operate in one of the world’s most exciting and dynamic industries, largely driven by technological advancements that can be leveraged to keep agents competitive, maximise revenues and enhance customer service.
“As a long-time advocate of travel agencies and their important role for the industry, I am confident that my vision will blend well with Sabre Pacific’s to deliver industry-leading and innovative end-to-end technology solutions to Sabre Pacific’s travel agency partners.”
“I look forward to leading the very dedicated Sabre Pacific team; working with people of such high calibre augurs well for the business.”
