Galileo speeds up booking process for agents with Clickpoint
BTS Special Report: Galileo has introduced its Clickpoint facility making searching for flights, hotels and car-hire faster for travel agents.
The system allows agents to use point and click technology rather than having to type in traditional GDS code.
Using Clickpoint agents click on the required element and the booking information is automatically shown on their Galileo Desktop screen.
The technology also means agents do not have to wade through a series of screens to make the booking.
Clickpoint also provides them with access to additional information such as airport terminal details and hotel photographs and maps.
Galileo UK country manager Patrick Lukan said: “We’re trying to bring the rich content to the desktop so agents don’t have to go through traditional GDS data. Agents can determine which they use. It also reduces training time for new agents.”
The GDS has also updated its Fare Guarantee Policy to include fuel and security surcharges.
The technology will help agents avoid Agency Debit Memos – the money airlines charge agents if they issue a ticket with the wrong price or surcharge.
Galileo is guaranteeing agents that the surcharge they see on the system is the one they pay.
Lukan said: “It takes the huge burden off the shoulders of the agent. If agents receive ADMs it’s our problem.”
