Garuda CEO becomes chairman of trade group AAPA
Emirsyah Satar, CEO of Indonesian flag carrier Garuda, has taken over as chairman of regional aviation trade group the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA).
He will serve for one year in the post and succeeds Osamu Shinobe, CEO of All Nippon Airways whose one-year term expires.
AAPA is a trade group that promotes the interests of Asia Pacific airlines and lobbies governments and cross-border authorities on issues such as visa regulations, aviation taxation and environmrntal schemes.
AAPA members include Air Astana, Cathay Pacific, Philippine Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Thai Airways International.
