Garuda pilots threaten strike
The Garuda Indonesia Pilot Association has confirmed it is preparing to strike this month, calling management of the state-owned company “incompetentâ€.

Stefanus Gerardus, chairman of the association, said the proposed strike action was likely to include not only pilots, but also other Garuda staff.

“It is not only the pilot association that has felt the impact of [the management’s] incompetent leadership, but all employees,†Stefanus told the Jakarta Globe.
He said the strike plan was a “reflection of the lack of leadership in Garudaâ€.
He went on to say that salary concerns were not the only problem, but were more of a “trigger.â€â€¨â€¨
Stefanus said negotiations with Garuda management were deadlocked.
