Gatwick to lose Caribbean flights
Caribbean Airlines is to axe its flights to London from next January.
The flights between Trinidad and Gatwick have been operating since 2006, originally as a codeshare with British Airways. Prior to 2006, Caribbean Airlines flew between the Port of Spain and Heathrow.
The airline indicated that it could no longer afford to operate a Boeing 767 on the London route, depsite having increased the frequency of its service to four times a week in February this year.
Customers who have already bought tickets for flights departing from Gatwick after January 10 can get a full refund or request to switch to another airline where seats are available.
Those who are due to depart before January 10 but return after that date can get a full refund or a refund for the return flight to Gatwick only.
