Genesys publishes latest ‘Review of Travel Agency Technology’
Travel Technology Consultant Genesys has published the latest version of its long-running independent ‘Review of Travel Agency Technology’.
The new edition includes updated and revised details of 33 technology suppliers and their products. Suppliers are subdivided by category according to the type of products offered, and information is structured to provide details on each suppliers background, system features, options, technical specifications, service, support and list of users.
The latest edition of the review features two new categories. Web Development and Sales Applications provides information on suppliers that specialise in the provision of web booking technology, which can be used by agents to incorporate availability search or booking functionality to their web sites. The Net Fares and Rates Databases section comprises details of suppliers offering database software for agents and consolidators who are selling negotiated and special fares.
The four principal Global Distribution Systems operating in Europe (Galileo, Amadeus, Sabre and Worldspan) are covered in detail. The review explains how web tools can enable travel agents to access inventory and complete bookings over the Internet.
Paul Richer (pictured), Senior Partner of Genesys, said: “Knowing the systems currently available on the market is the first step towards a successful choice. However, keeping abreast of technological developments is equally important, as is ensuring that your system supports all the technologies your Company intends to use in the long term.”
Genesys also publishes a Review of Tour Operator System Suppliers, as well as other independent and bespoke research reports. The Genesys 2002-03 ‘Review of Travel Agency Technology’ is priced at £49.50 plus 6.75 P&P and can be ordered directly from Genesys by phone (0870 704 0870) or online at: http://www.genesys.net
