GetThere adds rail to corporate product
Sabre Holdings owned corporate travel provider GetThere, has teamed up with a UK rail supplier to make it easier for corporations to book rail tickets.
GetThere has announced it is working with The Trainline to offer online rail reservations within its corporate travel booking system.
The company claims it is the first agreement of its kind in the corporate travel market.
GetThere vice president for Europe, Richard Adams, claims similar initiatives launched by competitors have run into problems.
Business travellers and travel managers using the system will be able to view a complete itinerary including rail and air segments as well as searching for options within corporate travel policy and negotiated rates.
GetThere says the UK rail content will be bookable by the end of the year. It also hopes to add European rail tickets, and expects to make an announcement regarding this shortly.
