GetThere to offer flight search by price

Friday, 31 Jan, 2006 0

Corporate online travel reservation system GetThere has enhanced its booking capability by allowing users to search for flights by price as well as by date and time.

The facility is expected to be available by the end of the first quarter the year for businesses whose travel management companies use the Sabre GDS, and later in the year for those whose travel is booked through Amadeus, Galileo or Worldspan.

Floyd Widener, vice president of GetThere and corporate travel at Sabre Travel Network, said the feature had been developed at the specific request of several European customers.

He said: “This moves GetThere even closer to the look and feel of leading leisure travel booking sites such as Travelocity or lastminute.com. As we incorporate more no-frill carriers and low-fare flights into the system, this capability is likely to become increasingly significant.”

GetThere’s pricing display will give users the ability to specify a number of variables that may impact the price of a booking, including alternative airports, departure and arrival time, duration of travel, non-stop flights and specific airlines.
