‘Gimme shelter’ for the next convention
The Greenbriar Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, is offering an offbeat meeting facility: a one-time top secret bunker for safety from nuclear attacks.
The Government Relocation Facility, built in 1982 and kept secret until newspapers exposed it in 1992, was built to shelter the US Congress to help them survive a nuclear war.
The Greenbriar this month started offering tours to guests. Groups can meet in five rooms ranging from 670 to 730 square feet.
Guests can’t stay overnight at the bomb shelter but the famous Greenbriar offers 802 rooms.
