Great Ocean Road named number one drive in Australia
Victoria’s Great Ocean Road has been named number one on a list of Australia’s 10 Greatest Drives in a list, which appears in Australian Traveller magazine and compiled by former Open Road editor Lee Atkinson from her book “On the Road – 40 great driving holidays in Australia.”
The famed section of Victoria’s west coast took the top spot ahead of The Great Tropical Drive in Queensland and the Waterfall Way in NSW.
Other drives to make the top 10 included crossing the Nullabor (SA/WA), The Savannah Way (Qld, NT, WA), Nature’s Way (NT) and the Mereenie Loop (NT).
The list was rounded out by the Cape to Cape (WA), Flinders Ranges (SA) and Coast to Coast (Tasmania).
