HAL’s latest Pinnacle-class ship will be called Ryndam
Holland America Line has given a name to its next Pinnacle-class ship.
The 2,662-passenger ship is expected to launch in 2021 and will be called Ryndam.
It is a sister ship to the recently launched Nieuw Statendam.
Ryndam is not a new name – the new ship becomes the fourth in HAL’s history to have the moniker.
"The name Ryndam reflects the unique history of this company while honoring previous ships that were progressive in their time as this last Ryndam will be," said HAL president, Orlando Ashford.
The next Ryndam will bring new life to one of the most notable series of vessels in our history."
Ryndam number 4 becomes HAL’s 17th vessel constructed by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri.
Construction began on the ship last month.
