Hard landing injures six on Hawaii flight
At least six people have been injured when an American Airlines plane made a hard landing at Kahului Airport in Maui.
The Federal Aviation Administration is now investigating the incident.
The airline says five flight crew and one passenger were taken to the hospital and later released.
There was a total of seven crew members onboard. and 167 passengers.
Maui Police Department said first responders were called to assist passengers and crew.
Although the Airbus aircraft was able to taxi to the gate under its own power it was ‘taken out of service for inspection by our maintenance team,’ American said.
“The safety of our customers and team members is our top priority.”
American hasn’t given a cause other than it ‘experienced an issue’ on landing.
