Hard Rock International has revealed plans for a second hotel and casino in the Dominican Republic.

A site has been secured for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Santo Domingo in the heart of the capital, in partnership with All Inclusive Collection, and is slated for a 2017 opening.

It will feature 400 rooms and suites and a 23,000 square feet casino.

"The Dominican Republic is the region’s most visited country and continues to be the top performing destination in the Caribbean. In fact, the country received 19% of the record number of 26.3 million visitors to the Caribbean region in 2014," said Nelson Parker, vice president of casino development at Hard Rock.

"The decision to bring a full service hotel and the brand’s second Caribbean casino to the Dominican Republic is a testament to the country’s remarkable strength in tourism."

The Hard Rock International brand has 212 venues in 69 countries including 162 restaurants and 23 hotels.
