Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas has left Marseille to continue her eight-day Western Mediterranean cruise following a fatal accident on Tuesday morning.
One of the crew members was killed and four other injured after a lifeboat fell from the fifth deck of the world’s largest cruise ship during a safety drill while the ship was in the French port.
Two of the injured are still in hospital receiving treatment in Marseille.
In a statement, Royal Caribbean said the 5,479-passenger ship left Marseille at 2pm yesterday and said it would arrive at Civitavecchia, Italy, today at 7:00 am as scheduled.
The dead man was a 42-year-old assistant engineer from the Philippines. Two of those injured were also from the Philippines and the fourth crew member was from India.
