Harrah’s plans new $1 billion casino on the Bahamas
Harrah’s Entertainment is partnering with Starwood Hotels to develop a billion-dollar resort on Nassau’s Cable Beach.
The resort, called Baha Mar, will compete most directly with Kerzner International’s Atlantis resort on nearby Paradise Island.
Owners of Atlantis believe the new Baha Mar property could complement Atlantis, which enjoys average room rates above $290 a night, while Harrah’s generally target middle-American gamblers, not international high rollers.
