Haven and Warner to scrap plastic straws and stirrers
Haven and Warner Leisure Hotels are joining sister company Butlin’s in the elimination of plastic straws and stirrers across all properties.
They will be replaced with alternative biodegradable products.
In addition, Bourne Leisure is enlisting the help of recycling and waste management provider, Biffa, to provide services for its parks and hotels across the UK.
Biffa will be delivering general waste management, dry mixed recycling, as well as glass and food recycling services to 35 Haven holiday parks and 13 Warner Leisure Hotels.

Erman Housein, sales and marketing manager at Bourne Leisure, said: "We want to do as much as we can to reduce our contribution to the ongoing issues of plastic waste negatively impacting the environment. With this in mind, we are pleased to see plastic straws disappear from all three brands: Butlin’s, Haven and Warner Leisure Hotels.
"These brands cater to more than four million guests every year, making it essential to ensure a significant and positive impact on the environment. Phasing out plastic straws shows how seriously we are tackling the challenge of cutting down our use of plastics and reducing our impact on the environment."
