Hawaii cuts quarantine period to 10 days
Hawaii Gov. David Ige reduced the quarantine duration for arriving travelers from 14 to 10 days, following guidance from the CDC.
The change takes effect immediately.
Inbound travelers can still skip quarantine with a negative Covid test taken before beginning the final leg of their inbound trip.
Those that do not or are traveling to Kauai County must quarantine.
Ige’s office said the quarantine length was eased based on recommendations issued by the CDC.
The agency first recommended a 14-day quarantine period at the beginning of the pandemic for anyone potentially exposed to the virus but has since revised that down to 10 days or seven days with a negative test result.
