Hawaii in talks for first ever direct European flight
Hawaii tourism leaders have been in discussions to bring the first ever direct flight from Europe to the Aloha state.
Hawaii Tourism Authority vice president of brand management Davis Uchiyama has been talking with officials from Oslo Airport in Norway to launch a direct flight operated by Norwegian Air.
The budget carrier would fly a 291-seat Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the 13-hour flight to Honolulu.
The tourism authority recently said it will continue targeting the Asia and European markets to offset a decline in North American visitors.
Recently released August data showed a small drop in visitor numbers and spending compared to last year.
