Hawaii is hot!
Hawaii Tourism today released preliminary statistics for the first half of 2007, with Australia Country Manager for Hawaii, Helen Williams saying, “In the year to 30 June 2007, 66,404 Australians visited the State of Hawaii representing an increase of 14.7% versus 2006”.
“Australia is considered by the Hawaii Tourism Authority to be an emerging international market and the growth in visitors from Australia is creating greater opportunities for our travel partners who support Hawaii in this market”.
The increased visitor numbers are attributed to additional airlift, competitive air pricing, greater destination awareness, and the favorable exchange rate. Australia was one of the top performing international markets and is increasingly seen as an important source of visitors to Hawai‘i.
Helen said, “Hawaii is generally considered to be a highly desirable holiday destination by Australians and with the dollar at a 23 year high, it just got even better”.
