Health is the new green
HONG KONG – Health is the new green as travel suppliers adapt their culinary offerings to a more health-conscious traveller.
Banyan Tree for example has eliminated gluten from all its food & beverage offerings.
Now comes Oasis Airlines which says it will offer new healthy menu options on business Oasis flights to London and Vancouver, starting September.
Citing response to passenger’s feedback, Oasis now has three dinner options to choose from, including the specially designed low fat and low sodium meals.
Chief executive officer of Oasis, Stephen Miller, says the healthy option is part of the airline’s aim to give its passengers more choice.
“Eating healthy has become a popular lifestyle trend. Many passengers have told us that they prefer a low fat, low sodium menu options on board,” says Miller.
Oasis will be working with its caterers in London and Vancouver to introduce similar menu choices on flights from those destinations, and is expected to launch their new healthy menu options in the coming months.
