Heritage Queenstown ICON Conference Centre…………hot news…………….

It is hard to imagine a more impressive location for a Conference Centre and no wonder it is called ICON, because it is right on the lakeside of the Heritage Queenstown hotel, [pictured below – just look at the view from ICON’s roof] with magnificent uninterrupted views of Queenstown’s scenic icons, including Lake Wakatipu, the Remarkables mountain range and more, including Walter and Cecil Peaks.
The highly appropriately named ICON Conference Centre has been designed by respected New Zealand architects’ Warren and Mahoney, recognized as a leading practice in environmentally sustainable design, consistently producing high quality, award-winning buildings.
ICON is two storeys high with a conference room catering for 200 people seated theatre style and 160 people for a banquet and on the roof is an outdoor terrace for special marquee events…………..and yes, you guessed it, that magnificent view unfolds right in front of you!
Heritage Queenstown is the past winner of the New Zealand Tourism Industry Awards in 2005 and 2006, and recently won the 2007 Queenstown business excellence award in hotel accommodation and not only that, the Heritage Queenstown has a history of innovation, being one of the first suppliers of “suite-style†accommodation when it opened in 1996 and later the hotel added popular three-bedroom self-contained villas, ideal for the ski market, and also most recently opened the exclusive lake front Esplanade Residences.
The Heritage Queenstown was also the first Green Globe benchmarked hotel in Queenstown and Heritage Hotels has also achieved the largest hotel inventory benchmarked for sustainability in the country since joining Green Globe in 2002.
